keep your belongings in the racks provided near the entrance
of the library.

pin-drop silence in the library.

can borrow only three (3) books at a time.

Each
book is issued for 14 days. Failure to return the book
on the due date leads to a fine of 50 paise being collected
for every day after the duration.

are not permitted to take reference books home or to class
room

Read
the newspapers, magazine and journals in the Reading Room
only.

Please
sign in the issue register to get a book issued.

If
there are any missing pages in the book, you should
bring it to the librarian’s notice before getting it
issued, otherwise you will be held responsible for the
missing pages.

Don’t
tear pages from books to help you in your references work.
It is very selfish to do so. These books are meant to be
shared by all.

Don’t
scribble on, colour or deface a book.

Don’t
write your comments on the books.

Handle
books with care. Try to avoid reading while you are eating
as you are likely to smear the book with oil or food stains.

Use
a book mark. Don’t fold the edge of a page to mark it.

Seek
the librarian’s assistance if you can’t locate a book.
Also try to learn something about how books are classified
in a library. They are generally entered under author’s
name, title and according to subject.

Replace
books where you find them so that others can locate them
easily.

Be
prompt in returning the books you borrow.

You
will be sent out of the library if you don’t abide by
library rules.
